International checkers (draughts) on the 10 × 10 board, official rules: men move one square forward and capture forwards and backwards; capturing is compulsory and you must take the sequence with the most pieces; a man is crowned only when its move ends on the last row; kings fly along the diagonals. Captured pieces go to the side tables.
The rules
- Ten by ten board, twenty men each; White moves first. Men move one square diagonally forward.
- Men capture by jumping over an enemy piece to the empty square beyond — forwards AND backwards — and may keep jumping in one turn.
- Capturing is compulsory. If several captures are possible you must take the one that captures the most pieces (a king counts as one piece).
- During a multiple capture the captured pieces stay on the board until the jump is complete, and no piece may be jumped twice.
- A man that ends its move on the far row becomes a king (two discs). Passing over the far row mid-capture does not crown it.
- Kings fly: they move any distance along a diagonal, and after jumping a piece may land on any empty square beyond it.
- You lose when you have no legal move left; a long shuffle of kings without a capture is a draw.
